New Here?

Welcome to St. John Presbyterian!

If this is your first time worshiping at St. John, we have two main ways to worship on Sunday mornings: our Adult Sunday School begins at 10:30 AM and our Worship Service begins at 11:30 AM. Each lasts an hour. Here is what to expect from each service:

Adult Sunday School (10:30 AM)

This class meets in the classroom inside the wrought iron gate off the parking lot, and to the right.  This is also known as the Church Parlor.  If you need directions, don’t worry, someone will point the way.  We are friendly that way.

Main Worship Service (11:30 AM)

This service is in the church sanctuary and begins promptly at 11:30 AM.  Enter through the main doors facing MacDill Avenue.  Wear comfortable clothes.  Expect a Bible-based message from our pastor and a chance to sing wonderful hymns of praise to our great God.

If this is your first time as our guest, we do not expect a gift from you beyond your presence with us, but we would be thrilled to have you fill out a pew card and even sign our guest book so we can reach out to you!

Answers to some questions you might have:

What to wear?

At St. John, dress can be casual or more formal, depending on your preference. Feel free to dress comfortably.

Do I need anything for the service?

You do not need anything other than a pen to take notes with, if you like. Bibles are provided in the sanctuary and hymns and relevant verses are displayed on the projector.

What other opportunities are there for worship and fellowship?

There are many opportunities at St. John to have fellowship with one another, to worship God together, and to serve together as each person’s interests and abilities allow. Additional worship and fellowship opportunities can be found on the “Missions” and “Christian Education” pages of this site. Feel free to contact us at 813-872-0333 or email church staff at stjohnpctampa@gmail.com with any questions you may have. The office is open on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Is a service offered in Spanish?

St. John’s service is primarily in English, though many of our members speak Spanish, and our pastor speaks “un poco español.” NOTE THAT our partner church, First United Church of Tampa, here at our MacDill Avenue location, has a Spanish service at 12:00 PM in the adult Sunday School room (en la sala de studio biblico para adultos, al patio interior).
